File Guardian is a local file version history tool. You choose a folder to protect; the app records snapshots on your computer so you can restore earlier versions.
Because the app reads files and paths you select, that data may include personal information (for example, names inside documents or your Windows user name in a file path). That information is processed only on your device for backup and restore features, except where Microsoft processes Store purchases as described below.
When you select a protected folder, File Guardian and its local helper service may read file contents and metadata, write restored files when you use Restore, and monitor subfolders within the folder you selected. You control which folder is protected in Settings.
Snapshot data is stored on your PC, including under the application’s user data area. This may include copies of files you have edited and your chosen protected folder path.
If you use Save current state, the app stores an additional local checkpoint. This remains on your device only.
We do not transmit your protected files or folder trees to servers operated by Huizhou Xiaoma Guohe Culture Technology Co., Ltd. Core features work offline. Network use is mainly for Microsoft Store licensing and optional Pro purchase.
Store installs and File Guardian Pro (one-time add-on) are processed by Microsoft under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. The app checks license status on your device. We do not receive your payment card details.
If you email service@aisoft.wang, we use your message only to provide support.
The Store package may declare capabilities such as runFullTrust so the desktop app and local helper can monitor the folder you select. This is not used to upload your files to our servers.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through our own online services. Contact us if you believe a child has emailed us personal information.
Stop protection via Settings or tray Quit; remove local history by uninstalling and deleting app data; manage Pro through your Microsoft account.
Processing described here occurs on your device unless you contact us by email or use Microsoft Store services.
We may update this policy and change the date above. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised policy where permitted by law.
